BUZZZ Terms of Use and Membership

These Terms govern your use of buzzzweb.com and, if you apply or are accepted, your BUZZZ Editorial membership. BUZZZ is operated by Cara Coley, based in Miami, Florida ("BUZZZ," "we," "us" or "our"). By using buzzzweb.com, applying, or remaining a member, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

"You" means the person using the Service and, if you apply on behalf of a business, that business. "BUZZZ publishers" means the publications listed at buzzzweb.com/publishers.

1. What BUZZZ is

BUZZZ is a free, application-only Editorial membership, a Curated Press Guild. Accepted members may receive editorial coverage on BUZZZ publishers, a public member page on buzzzweb.com, a private member area, a free website report, and notices when they are covered.

BUZZZ is not advertising, affiliate marketing, a referral program, a link-selling service or a lead-generation service. Coverage cannot be bought.

2. Eligibility

To apply, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have authority to act for the website and business you submit.
• Control the website you submit, as shown by our verification tag.
• Operate a lawful, identifiable business or practice that is not in a category listed as ineligible on our Apply page.
• Provide accurate, complete information and keep it current.

Some categories are reviewed case by case, and licensed professions may be asked to show a current license.

3. Applications and admission

Admission is at our sole editorial discretion. We review every application and may accept, place on a waitlist, or decline any application for any reason not prohibited by law, including that none of our publications currently covers your field. We are not required to explain a decision. Submitting an application does not create a membership.

Admission requires that at least two BUZZZ publishers genuinely relate to your work.

4. Membership is free

BUZZZ charges no fee for application or membership, and no one can pay for admission or coverage.

We may offer optional, separate paid website services (for example, fixing items in your site report). Those services are governed by a separate agreement. Buying or declining them has no effect on admission, coverage, member level or any other part of your membership.

5. What accepted members receive

Onboarding features. After you are accepted and our system detects your BUZZZ footer link, we aim to publish four editorial features about you or your business, across at least two BUZZZ publishers, within three business days. Timing can be affected by research needs, fact-checking, technical problems or events outside our control; if we will miss it, we will tell you.

Ongoing coverage. Members may be mentioned in later articles when a story genuinely relates to their work. Ongoing coverage is not guaranteed in any amount or frequency.

No guarantees of results. We do not promise any level of website traffic, search ranking, sales, followers or other results.

6. Editorial independence

All coverage is editorial and is written, edited and published by BUZZZ and BUZZZ publishers, not by members.

• We decide what to publish, when, where and how.
• Coverage is written to be accurate and fair. It is not advertising, and it may include information about your field or your business beyond what you provide.
• You may not require approval of articles before publication. You may ask us to correct factual errors, and we will review every request promptly and correct genuine errors.
• Information you provide may be attributed to you ("she says") or independently verified before it is stated as fact.
• Members do not write or submit articles for publication. Quotes, tips and data you contribute may be used, with attribution, at our discretion.

7. Links and disclosures

To keep coverage honest and compliant with search engine guidelines and advertising disclosure principles:
- Onboarding features carry the disclosure "Featured through BUZZZ membership," and their links to your website carry a "nofollow" attribute.
- Links from your member page to your website carry a "nofollow" attribute.
- Coverage involving any product, sample or free service you provide carries a disclosure and a "sponsored" link attribute.
- Other editorial mentions are published at our editorial discretion.

8. Your responsibilities as a member

You agree to:

• Place the BUZZZ link we provide in your website footer, with its "nofollow" attribute unchanged, and keep it there while you are a member.
• Keep our verification tag in place until verification is complete.
• Keep your member information accurate, and tell us about changes to your business name, website or ownership.
• Operate your website and business lawfully.
• Not state or imply that BUZZZ or any BUZZZ publisher endorses your products or services beyond the coverage actually published.
• Not use the BUZZZ name or badge except as provided in these Terms.

9. Content you give us

"Member Content" means anything you submit, including text, logos, images, portraits, quotes, tips, data and survey results.

You keep ownership of your Member Content. You grant BUZZZ and BUZZZ publishers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit for length and clarity, publish and display your Member Content to operate the Service, to prepare and publish coverage, and to create social media kits for your use. This license continues for coverage already published after your membership ends, except as described in section 12.

You confirm that you own your Member Content or have all permissions needed to grant this license, that it is accurate, and that it does not violate anyone's rights or any law. Do not submit confidential information.

10. Portraits and images of people

You may add one portrait of yourself to your member page. By uploading it, you confirm that:

• The portrait shows you, alone, and no one else, and shows no children.
• You are 18 or older.
• You own the photograph or have the photographer's permission to use it this way.
• You understand the member page is public and can be read by search engines and other automated services.

Portraits appear only on your member page. They are never used in articles, in social media kits, or to create other images. We review portraits before they appear and may apply a uniform style (for example, black and white and a standard crop). We remove your portrait from public pages within 24 hours of your request or of your membership ending.

Other images you submit (logos, products, premises) must not show identifiable people unless you have their permission, and must never show children.

11. Contributions and member levels

Contributing quotes, tips, data, shares, corrections and nominations is optional and unpaid. Active contribution may give members priority when several members are equally relevant to a story. Member levels are shown only in your private member area. We decide levels and priorities at our discretion; they are not a paid tier and carry no guarantee of coverage.

12. Pausing, removal and leaving

Paused. If your BUZZZ footer link is missing for 30 days, your website is unavailable, or your website no longer meets our standards, we may pause your membership. We will email you, and no new coverage will be prepared while paused. Fixing the issue restores your membership.

Removed. We may end your membership at any time if you breach these Terms, your business becomes ineligible, your website is sold or discontinued, or continued membership would harm BUZZZ, BUZZZ publishers, readers or other members. In serious cases (for example fraud, illegal activity or harmful content) removal may be immediate.

Leaving. You may leave at any time from your member area or by emailing BUZZZ@buzzzweb.com. Please remove the BUZZZ footer link when you leave.

After membership ends:

• Your member page and portrait are removed.
• Onboarding features are unpublished if you ask.
• Other published articles remain published as part of the publications' editorial record. We may remove or update links to your website if it no longer works, changes ownership, or no longer meets our standards.
• We keep records as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Emails

By applying, you agree to receive emails about your application and membership. Program emails (such as BUZZZ Asks) include an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time without affecting your membership.

14. Acceptable use

You may not: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; submit false information or apply for a website you do not control; interfere with or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service; use automated means to submit applications or scrape the member area; harass members, publishers or staff; or misrepresent your relationship with BUZZZ.

15. The BUZZZ name and badge

BUZZZ, the BUZZZ wordmark, buzzzweb.com and the design of the Service belong to BUZZZ. While you are a member, we give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to display the BUZZZ footer link exactly as we provide it. You may also link to your member page and to your coverage. Any other use of the BUZZZ name or marks requires our written permission.

16. Other websites

The Service links to websites we do not control, including members' websites. We are not responsible for their content, products, services or practices. Coverage of a member is not a guarantee of that member's products or services.

17. Disclaimers

The Service, including site reports, coverage and member pages, is provided "as is" and "as available." Site reports are general, automated observations about publicly available parts of your website and are not professional advice. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BUZZZ disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, and makes no promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

18. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BUZZZ, Cara Coley and BUZZZ publishers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, traffic, rankings, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Service or these Terms. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service or these Terms is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

19. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless BUZZZ, Cara Coley and BUZZZ publishers from any claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your Member Content, your website or business, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or anyone's rights.

20. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing any claim, you agree to email BUZZZ@buzzzweb.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

21. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top, and we will email members about material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service or remaining a member after changes take effect means you accept them.

22. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your membership; we may transfer these Terms in connection with a transfer of the Service. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Editorial and Disclosure Policy are the entire agreement between you and BUZZZ about the Service.
